I have setup Asset Leasing Module in Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations. The leasing module is correctly calculating depreciation and interest expense and creating journals for posting. The problem I am facing is the allocation of expense to cost centers (in our case department financial dimension)
We use Department code in financial dimensions to allocate our expenses to different departments. We allocate our rent expense to the departments based on the floor area occupied by each department. Our whole reporting is based on these allocations. The problem is I can only tag one department code with one lease contract, therefore when I generate journal entries through asset leasing module, the whole depreciation and interest expense is tagged to one department code only.
Is there any way I can assign multiple department codes to one lease contract and provide a percentage each department code so that the expense is distributed to each department code based on the percentage I provide? Please let me know if there is any workaround for how I can achieve this? You can also suggest some other leasing software that have this type of functionality available.
