UAE VAT in Dynamic NAV 2015

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

The Government of UAE has decided to implement VAT.  Do we have  VAT feature / functionality in Dynamics NAV 2015?  If yes, what is the way to enable VAT in NAV & LS Retail POS?

    Hello Chetan,

I would like to apologize first for my delay to reply to your inquiry but I was not checking the community in the last 10 days.

Please let me know what do you mean with non-recoverable VAT and partially recoverable VAT in your case so i can be able to assist you cause we don't use such terminologies in Lebanon.

Yes Dynamics NAV includes VAT. You have to do to VAT Posting Groups and configure the following Setup Tables : VAT Business Posting Groups, VAT Product Posting Groups and VAT Posting Setup.

on the VAT Posting Setup table, You can create new Line and select the right combination of VAT Business Posting Groups and VAT Product Posting Groups and set the right VAT % and select VAT Calculation as normal VAT , than you have to select the right accounts to be used when posting sales VAT and purchase VAT.

When you finish the above Setup, you have to select the new VAT Posting Group at the level of Customer\Vendor where you have to define the VAT Business Posting Groups and at the level of Item or Resources the VAT Product Posting groups.

The combination between the VAT Business Posting Group and VAT Product Posting Group will define the VAT % and accounts to be used upon posting.

Please let me know if the below answered your question.
