Different version of AX have different capabilities, therefore there isn't much to talk about until you find out which version you want to test.

Also, what do you mean by saying that some other application is running on top of AX? I assumed you see AX UI if you want to test it.

Maybe I should ask - are you in the right forum at all?

Currently, I do not know which version of AX. It is running the UMAX (Utility) platform on the top of it.
