Adding an email hyperlink to a Preference Center

Is there a way to add an email address hyperlink to a preference center form?
 
I want to display an email address as a hyperlink on the preference centre that when clicked on opens a new email message.
 
I have dragged a text element onto the preference center form, I have typed an email address when I click on the Link button from the top menu in the Link To box the only option I see in the drop down menu is URL and nothing else.

    Hi Partner,
    Yes, It is by-design.
    The Preference Center is essentially a form, and the links on the form currently only support URL.
    But you can create a new idea through the below URL, then ask your colleagues to raise up the votes.
     Ideas (dynamics.com)
    Our product team has direct visibility of these ideas and they will implement it on the basis of the highest number of votes received.

    If you enter mailto:emailaddress@example.com as the link and the link to as an url, it works for me :)
