Disposal/Sale of a Fixed asset from a package

Hello AX community,

I would like to know if you know another way to sell a fixed asset from a package without splitting it as it requires to create a new asset for each"split".

For example, I buy a pack of 100 computers so I create only 1 asset "package of 100 computers". But I will have to sell some of them (let's say I will sell 50 of them but not at the same time). So when arrives the moment I want to sell one of the computer, I have to split my asset and register a new asset :

I would like to find a workaround so I don't have to create a new asset each time I want to sell one of my computers.

Moreover, I would prefer not to create many FA cards so I wouldn't want to create 100 FA cards thanks to Excel add-in instead of creating one fixed asset for 100 computers.

Do you know how I could do ?

Hello Clara,

In the standard application, the only way is the one you mentioned, splitting the fixed asset and then selling the split one.

If this is too cumbersome and if you have a developer around ask him to have a look at the Russian localization. They use a separate fixed asset module, which is completely different from the one used in other countries but the good thing is that the Russian fixed asset functionalities can handle partial fixed asset sales. I don't know how complex it would be developing a similar feature for the 'normal' fixed asset module. A developer should be able to have a look at that and help you especially if you have those partial sales often.
