Why does D365 SALES-SO number sequence appear 15 times?

Our company is new to D365.

I am looking to set our SALES-SO number sequence to be an 11-digit numeric with no "SO" prefix.  I noticed that there were 15 SALES-SO number sequences???

I suspect that they differ by scope, but I cannot see how to show scope or company on a personalized view of number sequences.

This makes every dive into this area a real adventure.  Should be a lot easier to differentiate from the Number Sequence Standard View.

What am I missing?

Nelson

    Hi Nelson S,

Which app are you using, Sales Hub, F&O or else?

It sounds like you're trying to customize the Sales Order (SO) number sequence for your company. The multiple number sequences you're seeing are likely used for different purposes or scopes, such as for different sales channels, divisions, or legal entities.

To determine the scope of each number sequence, you can try the following steps:

    1. Go to the Number Sequence Standard View and find the SALES-SO number sequence that you want to modify.

    2. Click on the "Scope" field to open the dropdown menu.

    4. Select each scope option and check if the number sequence prefix or format changes.

This will help you identify which scope each number sequence is associated with.

If you still can't determine the scope of each number sequence, you may need to consult your system administrator or contact the software vendor for assistance. They should be able to provide you with more detailed information about the purpose and scope of each number sequence.

Regarding your preference for an 11-digit numeric Sales Order number with no "SO" prefix, you should be able to customize the Sales Order number sequence format by modifying the relevant configuration settings. Again, your system administrator or software vendor should be able to guide you through this process.

    Thanks Shawn,

We know how to determine the scope by drilling down on each one of them individually.  I was hoping for to insert a column (like SCOPE) so that I could tell from the initial view.

Doesn't seem to be a way to do that.
