Typing Issues

When entering notes in CRM, there is an issue. The typing will stop, and you need to click back in the field that you were typing to resume what you were writing. This will happen several times.

Good morning, afternoon, or evening depending on your location :)
    Hope you are well today!

The issue you're experiencing—where typing intermittently stops and requires clicking back into the notes field—can be caused by a few different factors. Here are some common causes and next steps we can take to troubleshoot:
    Possible Causes:
    1. Browser Compatibility or Extensions
Some browser extensions or outdated versions can interfere with Dynamics 365 functionality.
    2. Form Script or Customization Conflicts
If there are JavaScript customizations on the form, they might be causing focus to shift unexpectedly.
    3. Autosave or Background Processes
Dynamics 365 autosave or background refreshes might be interrupting the input field.
    4. Network Latency or Performance Issues
Lag or dropped packets can cause UI elements to become unresponsive temporarily.
    Recommended Next Steps:
    1. Try a Different Browser
Test in a different browser (e.g., Edge or Chrome) and in incognito/private mode to rule out extensions.
    2. Clear Cache and Cookies
Sometimes stale cache can cause UI glitches.
    3. Check for Custom Scripts
If there are any custom JavaScript events on the form, we can review them for potential focus-related issues.
    4. Monitor Network Activity
Use browser developer tools (F12) to check for any errors or long-running requests when the issue occurs.
    5. Update and Patch
Ensure your Dynamics 365 environment is up to date with the latest patches and updates.
    Few questions:
    • Which browser and version you're using?
    • Whether this happens for all users or just specific ones?
    • If it occurs on all entities or just specific forms?

Note: I collaborated with Copilot to help craft this response for clarity and completeness.
    Hope this helps some!
