Hi

I have been asked by client to deploy Field Service App online with Dynamics 365 Sales App on Premise and to be integrated with each other.

Is that even possible?

 Appreciate any help :)

I have the same question (0)

    Hi Alaa,

Yes, you can have 'Dual Use Rights License' for this purpose. please refer: https://crmtipoftheday.com/920/smart-licensing-with-dual-use-rights/ & https://www.crayon.com/ro-ro/news--resources/microsoft-dual-rights

but you'd require to integrate both environments by using integration tool (Scribe, SSIS, Data Export Services or custom integration) or import/export data manually.

Also, Field Service Version 7 could be use with on-premises environment. https://mbs.microsoft.com/customersource/UK/365Enterprise/downloads/product-releases/365fieldservice7. but I'm not sure about later field service versions.

    Hopefully I've answer your query.

    Thanks,

    Adnan

That's what I thought too! but a colleague of mine was telling me that with dual rights I do not need to build any integration between FS online and Sales on-premise.

    Thank you very much Adrian!

There is dual-use, which allows you to use a license online and onprem, and dual-write, which integrates D365 Customer Engagement and D365 SCM (both online). For your scenario there is nothing pre-built, and before investing so much in a custom solution I would thoroughly analyze why there is a need for Sales to be onprem. There is so much benefit they would lose with that combination.

Customers always come with ridiculous requirement no matter what you say. for that scenario the client deal with the federal and provincial government and they worries so much about hosting their clients detail information online.  that's why they want to keep the sales app on-premise while having FS online to take advantage of all its capabilities.

    Hi Alaa,

I'm happy to answer your query.

Regarding Dynamics 365 Apps online subscription and data security, you can check with Microsoft as I know they have specialized plans for Government & Public sector departments.

    Thanks,

    Adnan
