Hello,

I have been trying to connect a development and administration NAV 2016 client installation on my pc, with a remote NAV 2016 server within the same LAN, but can't.

Can anyone help?

I had the wrong server path, and no database user account.

You just need to select corresponding server name in the server name field in the Open Database window from the Development Environment (File - Database - Open).

You can also refer to the official guides at MSDN:

Ensure the sever 192.168.1.5 is accessible by the user by pinging it, and make sure that 8046 port is accessible via network firewall and anti-virus settings.

Hi,

It is very simple. You just need to select the proper Server Name, Database Name & Authentication type.

Pl. ensure that you are able to ping the particular server, have sufficient rights to access it and firewall or Anti Virus is not blocking you to connect to that particular server.

I 'm in the domain, and I have the NAV 2016 role centered client for users already connected. I have a server address of 192.168.1.5:8046/Adslice and 3 different companies including CRONUS. So, it's not a network problem.

I just need to know how to connect a NAV 2016 development environment to a NAV 2016 server already running.

Hi,

Please try to ping from server your pc.

If it succeeds, check the Server Name, Database Name, and Authentication is correct.

Is your pc is in the server domain?
