Hi There,
I am currently working on a task and using entity: ABC in dynamics 365 online instance-dev, I have created almost 422 fields on ABC entity which includes: Two option, LookUp and date-time, but now facing below error while creating the new fields.
Is there any option that i can create a new entity like BAC and embed ABC entity to pull all the relations and controls that i hold on ABC entity in dynamics 365 online.
Maximum number of fields reached

The field cannot be created because the maximum number of fields for this entity has been reached. Delete an existing field and try again. If you contact support, please provide the technical details.

    Hi partner,

I would recommend you optimize your data structure first.

Too many fields will put pressure on the back-end database, and also affect the speed of queries.

For fields that only show values and have no input requiremnets, please use subgrids or quick view forms instead of creating fields.

    Introduction of sub-grid: https://carldesouza.com/dynamics-365-subgrids/

Introduction of quick view form: https://carldesouza.com/dynamics-crm-quick-view-forms/

If entity A and entity B have a 1:N relationship, and the lookup fields of B records have been filled with the A record, then we can create a sub-grid in the A from, it will show the B fields.

We can also create a quick view form inside B form, which will show fields of the A record.

    Hi,

Always minimize the customizations you do in CRM. It will affect you in CRM performance.

Use Quick view, Grids and other ways to reduce the number of fields in the one entity.

I have also encountered the same problem in one of my projects. We have used Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2013 on-premise. So we have contacted Microsoft regarding this. They have increased the maximum field limit for us. But it's not a good practice to do it. Too many fields will put pressure on the back-end database. It will affect you in CRM performance.

    Regards,

    Dharani
