Microsoft Windows 10 with Dynamics ERP

Hi all,

I suppose there is no official release or update on this.

Would just like to ask if anyone is aware how Windows 10 will affect the installation, setup, current working mechanism of Microsoft Dynamics ERP (eg, AX2012R3 and NAV2015)?

Appreciate all sharing, thanks.

    Hi,

Probably it will not have impact.  Note that Windows 10 has not been released as of today. The Microsoft Sustainable engineering team has to do testing and provide information on compatibility then.

I've no personal experience, but I read on a group I follow on LinkedIn of one user who normally runs a demo version of AX on his local PC. His experience is that Dynamics AX 2012 R3 AOS service will not start on Windows 10 build 10122 or 10130.

Since Windows 10 is not a server operating system, I'm not sure I'd be too worried about that.

    Hello -

I had a local install of the AOS and client on AX 2012 R3 CU8 on Windows 8.1, and after upgrading to Windows 10, I am encountering the same issue as above - the AOS will not start. Specifically, here's the three errors from the Event Viewer:

Object Server 01:  Error accessing registry: Cannot open key SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Dynamics Server\6.0\01. Error code: 0

Object Server 01:  The directory "C:\WINDOWS\system32\\bin" does not exist or access to it has been denied by the operating system.

Object Server 01:  The home directory for Axapta (C:\WINDOWS\system32\) does not match the required structure or can not be accessed. Please check installation, configuration and access rights.

I still haven't found a resolution, so if there's one that someone is aware of, please let me know, and I'll do the same.

    HI guys,

Sustained engineering released compatibility statement with Windows 10 for R2 CU8. R3 is on the way. Check out: http://blogs.technet.com/b/dynamicsaxse/archive/2015/09/25/announcing-support-for-windows-10-with-dynamics-ax-2012-r2.aspx.

    Kind regards,

    Wim.
