Cannot Populate the Default (financial) dimensions in GL journal using DIEF

Hi,

I am trying to load the General journal using DIEF. i was able to populate the journal and journal line but it does not populate the default dimensions (financial dims) of the customer account.

I used the 'DefaultDimension' field in my template and the dimension values were separated using the hyphen (-).

Really appreciate if someone can help sort out this issue.

Thanks

you need a to write a data transformation function so that you can convert the Default Dimension (Hyphen separated) value to int64 value.

Please review one of the standard implementation related to this...

    Check class called DNFInventJournalEntityClass\GenerateDefaultDimension()

One more thing you need to consider related to this.

Please check the Source data formats setup...

under Application tab we define what is the sequence of dimension value and what is the separator..

Please verify if your setup is good enough as per you data in template.

Please review and update with your findings...

    Hi,

Is it the AX2012 R2 CU7 version of DMF/DIXF you using?

Can you post the code found in \Classes\DMFLedgerBalanceEntityClass\GenerateDefaultDimension here?

    Regards,

    Dominic

    Hi There,

I am using AX 2012 R2 CU7 and was able to load a General Journal with default dimensions for the customer.

    The solution is:

    1. Navigate to Data Import Export Framework>> Setup>> Source Data Formats>> Application

        a. Choose the Dimension Code

        b. Ensure that the Dimension Format matches the structure of the Account Structure in the GL

    2. I have entered the following journal

    8666.Capture2.PNG

    JournalNum: automatically inserted

    Line Number: auto inserted

    JournalName: GenJrn

    CurrencyCode: AUD

Voucher:0000001 (depending on your number sequence setup)

    Company: BP

    AccountType: Customer

    LedgerDimension: Customer Account Code

DefaultDimension: this is where you place your financial dimensions separated by (-) or based on configuration of DIEF source data type

    AmmountCurDebit:0

    AmmountCurCredit: 120

    OffsetCompany:BP

    OffsetAccountType:Bank

    OffsetLedgerDimension:ANZ-AUS

    1425.Capture22.PNG

Tip: 1. When migrating journals for Vendors or Customers in the Account Type, you need to use the DefaultDimension field for populating financial dimensions.

           2. When migrating journals with account type and offset account type is Ledger, then use the LedgerDimension field for the main account and default dimensions separated by (-) such as below

Nice answer from Aahmednafea! Try this first. In the first beta of DIXF I had troubles with the dimensions as well. Then I had to enable the 'Run business....' tickboxes on the processing group and Entity structure (Can be opened from the Target entity form). You have to enable the both then.

    Hi All,

Thanks a lot for all of your replies!!

I was testing this in CU6 enviroment and i had all the source data format configurations correctly set up.

Today I got the chance to get my hands on CU7 environment and i loaded the exact same file with the same set ups and it worked.

So i guess this is an issue in CU6 and as some of you mentioned above we might need a small customization to fix it.

    Hi,

    IF it's CU6, there's a bug I remember in

    \Classes\DMFLedgerBalanceEntityClass\GenerateDefaultDimension, and

    \Classes\DMFLedgerBalanceEntityClass\GenerateOffsetDefaultDimension

    methods.

they calls res = conNull(); all the time which is why the value aren't getting in.

    Regards,

    Dominic

I'm on CU8 and followed these instructions - it allowed me to pass the value in the DefaultDimension field - but when I went into the journal to look, none of the values were actually set.  Are others having this issue in CU8?
