AX 2012 Released product variants

Hi, we have items which have configurations. For data migration purposes I'm trying to get a list of the all the Items and all of their Configurations and which configurations are released into each company. (In AX2009 I think the table was called ItemConfig or similar), but can't figure out which of all these EcoResProduct.... tables is going to give me what I need. Anyone able to help?

Hi Tim,

Check EcoResProductMaster* tables to find the records for Product master configurations. Like EcoResProductMaterColor table stores information about colors assigned to Product master and similarly EcoResProductMasterSize for Product master sizes.

Thanks - accessing that table from Excel using the Excel add-in gives me the total list of items and configurations but how to I figure out which configuration have been released into each company?

Hi Tim,

The InventDimCombination still holds the same information for released product (as AX2009) of a company.

There is now a new field call DistinctProductVariant in the InventDimCombination table which links to the EcoResDistinctProductVariant table. The EcoResDistinctProductVariant table itself is a descendant of EcoResProduct. It also has a link to a EcoResProductMaster record.

After the product is release to specific company, the product and its combinations are stored in InventTable and InventDimCombination tables. Both these tables are not global so you can see which product configuration has been release to which company by looking at the dataareaId in these tables. InventTable table stores the product or Items and InventDimCombination contains its combinations.
