FA Change of Useful Life - Depreciation

(0) ShareShare

Hi,

Fixed Asset has a change of useful life from 5 years to 10 years, how can I run the depreciation proposal to calculate the depreciation using the new net book value?

The asset depreciation method has been set as "Straight line service life" and no depreciation book is created for the asset.

    Hi WYing,

Your fixed asset must be linked to a value model.

In this value model you can change the useful lifetime from 5 to 10 years and then just run the depreciation proposal in an ordinary fixed asset journal.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi Dr. Ludwig,

The fixed asset is linked to a value model and has it's useful lifetime changed.

But running the depreciation proposal still calculate the amount from the acquisition amount instead of calculating depreciation from the net book value.

    Hi WYing,

Can you test this with a depreciation method 'straight life remaining...'

Just navigate to your value model and try to modify this method.

    This should resolve the issue.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hai Dr. Ludwig

I already change depreciation method to straight line life remaining.

But the depreciation proposal still calculate the amount from acquisition amount (with

remaining service life) instead of calculating depreciation from the net book value (with remaining service life).

    thanks and regards,

    Hardian
