User Profile Security ( InventTransferOrders form )

Hello,

I'm setting up user rights at the moment, and one user has to open the Transfer Orders form (Inventory management). I gave him the WMSWarehouseManager profile, and he had access, but there are buttons missing:

rights1.PNG

  • Ship transfer order
  • Receive
  • Add products

I tried adding the Retail Store Manager role, but instead it made the records invisible for the user. I'm a bit lost, and I can't give this user Administrative rights.

I've looked everywhere, but I can't find a useful way to get which privilege, profile or right allows the displaying of a button.

Thank you!

    For Button Ship transfer order

    1) assign role : Receiving clerk

    or

    2) Add InventTransferReceive(Action Menu Item) to User Role(which is currently assigned with user)

    For Button Receive

    1) assign role : Shipping clerk

    or

    2) Add InventTransferShip(Action Menu Item) to User Role(which is currently assigned with user)

    Add products

    1) Assign any of following Roles, any one

    Retail catalog manager
    Retail merchandising manager
    Retail operations manager
    Retail catalog manager
    Retail merchandising manager

    or

    2) Add RetailAddItems(Display Menu Item) to user role(which is currently assigned with user)

    Thank you very much Sohaib!!

That's perfect, but please, can I ask you how did you manage to know ? Is it by experience or is there a way to find out like using cross-reference ( I tried it but it only gave me "code security" use ) ?

I would recommend you to Install SDT and play with it on you Test environment.

This tool can provide you a clear picture of menu items by selecting a single item and you can manage to add/delete access to any menu items.

    Dear Sohaib,

I have a little bit similar case. I created a role for creating transfer orders. I want the users assigned this role to be able to delete transfer order items and at the same time he cannot delete the transfer order itself , so i granted him a create permission on the INVENTTRANSFERORDER menu item. and delete permission on the RETAILADDITEMS menu item. however it doesn't work as expected I can create orders and add items to it but cannot delete items from the Transfer order. is there a way to solve this?

RETAILADDITEMS menu item may be linked to any form and/or class.

to give delete access to any table you can overwrite permissions for particular table. also note that, if your user is trying to delete an non-posted Transfer order only
