How to retrieve contacts in a scheduled Customer Journey

Suppose I've a Customer Journey created and in 'Live' status. How do I retrieve the contacts which are present in different marketing segments which are part of this customer journey?

Ideally for a Customer Journey which is Live, I'd like to retrieve the marketing segments, the contacts in those marketing segments.

RE: How to retrieve contacts in a scheduled Customer Journey

    Hi Saurabh,

    Apologize for the late reply.

Yes. I'm trying to get information about future touch points with a contact through any customer journey is that correct.

Like you said, I couldn't find any way to get this information yet.

I know not all future touch points can be determined before hand because of the way customer journey is designed (some actions are based on conditions and triggers). So, even if I get the information of the future touch points which will definitely execute, that should be fine.

The use case if primarily for Analytics purposes & based on some feedback, put some of the customers into suppression segment.

    Thanks

    Hey Avinash

Would love to understand what types of insights you are trying to get out of this?

For the specific question looks like you want to be able to get information about future touchpoints with a contact through any customer journey is that correct?

Not quite sure that is possible today. Would still like to understand how you are hoping to use the data?

    Thanks

RE: How to retrieve contacts in a scheduled Customer Journey

    Hi Clofy,

yes, for the executed ones, I am able to get the data. But I want to know the data for first 5 columns of the table for the customers journeys scheduled in future which is what I'm unable to get now.

RE: How to retrieve contacts in a scheduled Customer Journey

    Hi Avinash,

Thanks for sharing such detailed information.

I havn't Power BI to connect marketing application.

From what you described, it seems that the record/data will be created automatically since the customer journey has already been executed,

you could build 2 test customer journeys and 2 segments with test contacts,

run customer journey 1 at Feb 27 2020, run customer journey 2 at Feb 28 2020 to test whether you could get data as what you want.

    Regards,

    Clofly

RE: How to retrieve contacts in a scheduled Customer Journey

    schema

As per this attached diagram, there are 2 marketing segments (1 static and 1 dynamic), 3 marketing emails and 3 customers journeys.

Now, CustomerJourney1 has started on Feb 15, 2020 and CustomerJourney2, CustomerJourney3 are scheduled to start on Mar 15 and Apr 01 respectively.

Now, for CustomerJourney1 (since it has been executed), I can go and find the insights at a contact level from the interactions data stored in the blob storage https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/marketing/custom-analytics. Using this data, I can know which contact belonged to which custmer journey, which marketing email was sent to which contact, etc.

But for CustomerJourney2 and CustomerJourney3, how do I know which segments belong to each customer journey (and therefore which contacts) and which marketing email is scheduled to send to which contacts.

i.e. I want to get the information like below table:

scheduled start, marketing email, marketing segment, contact, emailsent, emaildelivered, emailopened, emailclicked

    CustomerJourney1 Feb 15, 2020 MarketingEmail1 MarketingSegment1 contact1 Feb 15, 2020 Feb 15, 2020 Feb 16, 2020 Feb 16, 2020
    CustomerJourney1 Feb 15, 2020 MarketingEmail1 MarketingSegment1 contact2 Feb 15, 2020 Feb 15, 2020 Feb 15, 2020
    CustomerJourney1 Feb 15, 2020 MarketingEmail1 MarketingSegment1 contact3 Feb 15, 2020 Feb 15, 2020
    CustomerJourney1 Feb 15, 2020 MarketingEmail1 MarketingSegment1 contact4 Feb 15, 2020 Feb 15, 2020 Feb 19, 2020 Feb 19, 2020
    CustomerJourney1 Feb 15, 2020 MarketingEmail2 MarketingSegment2 contact1 Feb 15, 2020 Feb 15, 2020
    CustomerJourney1 Feb 15, 2020 MarketingEmail2 MarketingSegment2 contact3 Feb 15, 2020 Feb 15, 2020
    CustomerJourney1 Feb 15, 2020 MarketingEmail2 MarketingSegment2 contact5 Feb 15, 2020 Feb 15, 2020
    CustomerJourney1 Feb 15, 2020 MarketingEmail2 MarketingSegment2 contact9 Feb 15, 2020 Feb 15, 2020 Feb 15, 2020 Feb 15, 2020
    CustomerJourney2 Mar 15, 2020 MarketingEmail2 MarketingSegment2 contact1
    CustomerJourney2 Mar 15, 2020 MarketingEmail2 MarketingSegment2 contact3
    CustomerJourney2 Mar 15, 2020 MarketingEmail2 MarketingSegment2 contact5
    CustomerJourney2 Mar 15, 2020 MarketingEmail2 MarketingSegment2 contact9
    CustomerJourney3 Apr 1, 2020 MarketingEmail3 MarketingSegment1 contact1
    CustomerJourney3 Apr 1, 2020 MarketingEmail3 MarketingSegment1 contact2
    CustomerJourney3 Apr 1, 2020 MarketingEmail3 MarketingSegment1 contact3
    CustomerJourney3 Apr 1, 2020 MarketingEmail3 MarketingSegment1 contact4
    CustomerJourney3 Apr 1, 2020 MarketingEmail3 MarketingSegment2 contact1
    CustomerJourney3 Apr 1, 2020 MarketingEmail3 MarketingSegment2 contact3
    CustomerJourney3 Apr 1, 2020 MarketingEmail3 MarketingSegment2 contact5
    CustomerJourney3 Apr 1, 2020 MarketingEmail3 MarketingSegment2 contact9

For the highlighted first 8 rows, since the customer journey has already been executed, I'm able to get the data from the marketing interactions data in blob storage.

How do I get the information for the CustomerJourney2 and CustomerJourney3 in this format.

    Thanks,
    Avinash Sonee

RE: How to retrieve contacts in a scheduled Customer Journey

    Hi asonee,

Could you share me more details about your requirement?

    In general, we will add a segment in a customer journey, and all contacts in the segment will be target;

What "different marketing segments" means?(you also said these segments are part of this customer journey)

How would you like to retrieve contacts in segments? you can retrieve contacts in a specific segment with code:

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/marketing/developer/extend-segments

    Regards,

    Clofly
