I know that the IM Conversions were available for the older versions of Dynamics GP. Does anyone know if it's still available for new GP customers who will be purchasing the latest version of GP? I can't seem to find anything that it still is being offered for new versions of GP.. I see tons of references for the old versions.
Look forward to receiving a reply.
Thank you,
Penny
IM conversion tool is inside Integration Manager. You will find it under Tools->Convert Database
Thanks Richard. So this means you need to purchase IM in order to receive the IM Conversion? When you first bought GP, I thought they gave the IM Conversion as a trial for 240 days. We are trying to see if a new GP customer purchases the Starter Pack whether they would receive the IM Conversion trial without having to purchase the Customization Pack to get access to the Integration Suite.
I believe the free trial period is 90 days. I do not think the license will prevent you from running the conversion tool. It will however prevent you from running any integrations. If this is a new customer purchase they will be able to run integrations for 90 days.
I Agree with Richard,
my recall was that when you subscribed as a new GP customer, you'd get a free 'Conversion' license for 6 months I believe that would allow a client to import their data from a Legacy accounting system over to GP.
However, the Conversion tool you're talking about is something different I guess and was only about the database format from older IM versions to newer releases.
If you are past the 6 months after the purchase of the original keys, the IM reg keys might not work anymore (that's what I experienced with a long time customer still on GP 2010), and you'll have to purchase a full license of IM to use it.
At the level IM is priced, there are likely better products out there to do integrations with GP.
Hi Beat, Thank you. That is exactly what I'm looking for the Free Conversion license for 6 months and wanted to know if that is still available for new GP customers.
Regards,
Hi Penny,
Unless something has changed in the Microsoft subscription policies, I'd say that any authorized partner/VAR should be able to retrieve the temp reg keys for IM on the partner portal for that customer account if it's a new account (I don't believe renewals qualify for this)..
To be 100% sure, you should contact the partner sales team : partner.microsoft.com/.../
