Unit price on purchase orders

Posted on by 572

Hi Experts,

Below is the purchase set up on an item. When the user adds this item in a purchase line the unit price comes 0.77640 instead of 0.76875. We are not using trade agreements, there are another purchase transactions for this item last month for the same vendor with 0 unit price. No idea from where it is taking 0.77640 !! What could be the reason ? any help please.

I have seen similar cases before and I believe the priority for purchase unit price is:-  Previous unit price from the same vendor transactions and if there is no previous transaction, then unit price set on the item master, but here it is not the case.

    Hi AX Beginner,

I'm not able to tell you the technical object names. You can ask a developer to look in to your environment and analyze all customizations. A developer can also use the debugger to check the behavior of methods and watch the variables during the debugging execution.

In purchase order line you can use menu item to determine where unit price price is being calculated. ( screenshot from D365 but is similar in AX )

But like Andre mentioned, if you have customizations on unit price determination, this feature might not work as expected.

    Hi Andre,

Thanks for the suggestion, Can you please provide me the class names or methods where there can be a chance of customization on the unit prices for PO lines. I have debugged it already but it didn't reach anywhere !.

    Hi Nino,

Thanks for the suggestion, I didn't get the second point.

I am able to select the the parameter Enable price details in the Procurement and sourcing parameters. Can you please show me where is the other setup you have suggested.

    Hi AX Beginner,

It looks like you have a customization. At least the unit price field is extended from 2 to 5 decimals. I would suggest to use a debugger to check if there are some intermediate roundings or calculations which can cause this behavior.

Go to Procurement and sourcing > Setup > Procurement and sourcing parameters and enable Price details

Lines PO line,  select menu "Purchase order line" > Price Details

    Check it it helps
