Hi,
I have created new security roles using out of the box duties and add them to a new created role.
I noticed that the open in excel option within the ribbon is missing.
Are you aware of which privilege or duty i need to add in order get this back?
Hi Hetal,
The templates are based on data entities which should be included with permissions in the role as well. Which duty did you add? The duty Maintain vendor payments contains a privilege for maintaining the vendor payment journals as well as the privilege called VendorPaymentJournalEntityMaintain which gives access to the entity and the template.
Hi Andre,
I have got Maintain supplier payments within my role, this contains the VendorPaymentJournalEntityMaintain privilege. I have can here is another duty relating to that privilege which is Maintain Document entity data for data management, do you think its worth adding this as i still can't see the open in excel option in the ribbon.
I can however see the entity available within the Microsoft office icon at the top left.
Also do you think it could have something to do with the document templates?
Please kindly advise.
Hetal
I did a lot of testing yesterday with my new roles and managed to locate which duty is controlling the Open in Excel button with the header of the Journals.
Just for anyone else's reference the button is driven by you creating a new excel template based of the original supplied by Microsft, more details on scripting can be found here:
docs.microsoft.com/.../office-integration-edit-excel
The duties that control the explicit button is:
Maintain journals and transactions
Inquire into journals and transaction status
Thanks for your help anyways.
Kind regards,
