I have the following scenario:

A production order is created today (say 22 Jan) in a planned status which is expected to go into production on 2 March; There is a new version of the Production BOM which has been certified with a starting date of 1 March.

Question: When running the MPS and MRP from today to end June, will the new requirements for the new version of the BOM be used in determining the items and quantities requirements even though the current version of the BOM is certified?

The obvious answer is yes, however, I am looking for verification of this, please.

RE: Production order versions

Hi Andrew,

When running MRP, all planned production orders are deleted, and will be recreated considering your new BOM version. Of course, there are some preconditions.

- the new bom version must be certified

- the date of the production order must be later then the starting date of your BOM Version

when running MRP, you can set the BOM and BOM Version columns visible to check if he's using the correct version.
