Hi
I have a query concerning freeze time. I am using Dynamics AX 2012 R2 and I set up a production item that requires another item which is also of type production
I added some demand (sales order) for my Finished Good item. I also configured a 50 day freeze time in my Master Plan and ran Master Scheduling
The system proposed a planned batch order for the FG item with the start date equal today + 50 days (example 09 Feb 2016 + 50 days = 30 March 2016). So far so good. The planned order for the sub production has its start date set to the Start date of the FG item less production lead time of the sub-production (therefore since the start of the FG production order is on the 30th March, and the production lead time is of 5 days, then the start date was computed as the 25th March 2016, thus ending in time for consumption by the FG production order). This is logical from a production point of view BUT the start / end date of the sub-production fall in the Freeze time period.
Is this the way it should be? If I want to block MRP from scheduling any kind of planned production order for the next, say, 50 days, is Freeze time the right setup to do?
I do have an AX 2012 R3 test system and the result was the same..
Thanks in advance for all your help
