We have below scenario to be mapped in AX 2012 R3,
Our client is purchasing fabric rolls and then after some 3 to 4 stage processing the Finished Good rolls are sold to customers.
The requirement is like, we have to configure the Products & Bills of materials in such a way so the inventory as well as material requirement planning is calculated correct.
The raw materials are procured in Roll forms (meters) and the lenght might vary from vendor to vendor per roll. Means RMRoll 1- 100 mtr, RMRoll 2=150 mtr, RMRoll 3 = 300 mtr etc. But the actual raw material will remain same (only length is varying roll to roll).
Now if we have a Finished good requirement of FGRoll with length of 75 mtr then RMRoll 1 (100 mtr) should be used as a Raw material out of all different length roll available. The balance 25 mtr can be returned to stock during Production order picking list posting.
And if I have a Finished good requirement of FGRoll with Lenght of 350 mtr then we can not use any roll because out of all RMRolls not a single roll is having full length although the total RMRoll inventory becomes as 550 mtr (100+150+300). In master planning also it should create planned purchase order of 350 mtr.
The condition is simple: If i have requirement of FG Roll of X mtr & the Raw material is available in stock equal to or greater than X mtr then I will use that RMRoll otherwise the stock should not be considered as free stock for that particular order and the new Purchase order needs to be placed.
One more thing is that we have to track which RMRoll is used against which FGRoll as well.
Looking for help to suggest the solution to map the requirement in AX 2012 R3?
