Hello:
A GP 9.0 client on Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010 gets the following error, upon trying to export from SmartList to Excel: "Unable to start Microsoft Excel." The client has been on GP for a while and noticed this issue, last Friday. That was the same week that GP crashed, and they had to get someone to uninstall and reinstall it.
They access GP and Excel, specifically, from one Terminal Server box--meaning that they log directly onto the Terminal Server prior to launching either app. They have been on Office Professional Plus 2010 for about three years and have never had this issue before.
Office, of course, is activated even with GP having crashed. Also, even with Excel open prior to clicking the "Excel" button in SmartList, this error happens. All GP users, including "sa", get this issue. Too, even logged on as a domain administrator on the Terminal Server box, we get the issue.
Their software company conducted the reinstall of Office, while my firm conducted the reinstall of GP. So, there may have been a difference in user account permissions used.
Any ideas?
Thanks! Much appreciated!
John
