Hi All
For non admin users (without system admin role) below screen appears blank although the due date and assigned to all fine on the activities, plus they can see the list of activities in my activities but not the accelerator . These users are given Sales Manager security role. What security roles are required for this list to pop up automatically? Once sys admin role given they can see the activities so the activities themself do not have an issue

    Hey,

great question and to be honest I find the Sales Accelerator tricky to understand and use,

As you pointed out already you checked the ownership of main record like contact, lead, etc and the related activity.

My suggestion for you is to double-check the settings of the accelerator:

    • Go to Sales Hub > Sales Insights Settings > Sales Accelerator.
    • Under Security Roles, confirm that the required roles (e.g. in your case Sales Manager is explicitly assigned.
    • Important: Personally I experienced that here is an issue where these role settings reset or do not save. Please keep an eye on that.

Make sure you give the system some time to refresh once you updated the security roles as it can take some time.

I hope I was able to provide you some guidance. Feel free to reach out in case you have questions.

    Hello Samantha73,

ou're right to suspect a security role issue. The Sales Manager role, while powerful for sales-related tasks, might be missing specific privileges required to render the "My Work" list within the Sales Accelerator.

Here's a breakdown of the likely required security roles and privileges for users to see their activities in the Sales Accelerator's "My Work" list:

Key Security Roles and Privileges to Investigate:

    1. Salesperson Role (Core Sales Role): This is often the baseline role for users working with sales activities and records. Ensure your Sales Manager role either includes all the privileges of the Salesperson role or that users have both roles assigned. Key privileges to check within the Salesperson role include:

      • Core Records: Create, Read, Write, Delete, Assign, Share for:

        • Activities (Phone Call, Task, Email, Appointment, etc.) - User level access at a minimum.

        • Leads - User level access at a minimum.

        • Opportunities - User level access at a minimum.

        • Accounts - User level access at a minimum.

        • Contacts - User level access at a minimum.

      • Sales Entities: Read access to various Sales entities like Price Lists, Product Catalog, etc. (though less directly related to activity visibility).

      •

    2. Sales Insights Add-on Roles (Crucial for Sales Accelerator): The Sales Accelerator is part of the Sales Insights features. Ensure users have the necessary roles specifically related to Sales Insights:

      • Sales Insights User: This is a fundamental role that grants access to the core Sales Insights features, including the Sales Accelerator.

      • Sales Insights Admin (If configuration changes are needed): While not required for viewing the "My Work" list, this role is needed to configure the Sales Accelerator sequences and settings.

      •

    3. Prerequisites for Sales Accelerator Features: The Sales Accelerator relies on certain background processes and data availability. While security roles control access, ensure the following are in place:

      • Enabled Sales Accelerator: The Sales Accelerator feature must be enabled in your Dynamics 365 Sales Hub settings.

      • Sequences Configured and Published: Activities need to be part of active and published Sales Accelerator sequences.

      • Records Added to Sequences: The Lead or Opportunity records that these activities are associated with must be actively added to a Sales Accelerator sequence and assigned to the users in question.

      •

    4.

    Troubleshooting Steps for Security Roles:

    1. Review the Sales Manager Role:

      • Go to Settings > Security > Security Roles.

      • Open the Sales Manager security role.

      • Carefully examine the privileges under each tab (Core Records, Sales, Marketing, Service, Customization, Business Management, Miscellaneous Privileges).

      • Specifically look for Read access (User level or higher) to all Activity entities.

      • Also look for Read access to entities related to Sales Insights or Sales Accelerator (if they exist as separate entities in your version).

      •

    2. Assign the "Sales Insights User" Role:

      • The most likely culprit is the missing "Sales Insights User" role.

      • Go to Settings > Security > Users.

      • Select the non-admin users who are experiencing this issue.

      • Click Manage Roles.

      • Ensure the "Sales Insights User" role is assigned to these users, in addition to their Sales Manager role.

      • Click OK.

      •

    3. Test After Assigning the Role: Have the affected users log out and log back into Dynamics 365 Sales Hub. Then, have them navigate to the Sales Accelerator to see if the "My Work" list now appears.

    4. Compare Privileges with a Working User (Non-Admin): If assigning the "Sales Insights User" role doesn't resolve the issue, find a non-admin user who can see the "My Work" list and compare their assigned security roles and privileges with those of the affected users. There might be a subtle privilege difference in the Sales Manager role customization or another assigned role.

    5. Check for Custom Security Roles: If your organization has created custom security roles, review the privileges granted in those roles carefully, ensuring they include the necessary access to Activity entities and Sales Insights features.

    6.

    Why System Administrator Works:

The System Administrator role has full access to all entities and features in Dynamics 365, including all Sales Insights and Sales Accelerator components. This is why users with this role can see the "My Work" list without any specific Sales Insights roles needing to be explicitly assigned.

In summary, the most probable solution is to ensure that the non-admin users with the Sales Manager role also have the "Sales Insights User" security role assigned to them. This role typically grants the necessary permissions to access and view the Sales Accelerator features, including the "My Work" list. If the issue persists after assigning this role, a more detailed comparison of security privileges with a working non-admin user will be necessary. Remember to have users log out and back in after any security role changes.
