Cannot open the demo database

Posted on by 4,818

Hi expert, I have played the demo crornus database for several days, but today it suddendly stopped which had error as below:

You don't have permission to run the Dynamic NAV Server System. Contact your system administrator to your permission.

I cannot login to the SQL server management studio either with the window authorization. It says No process on the other end of the pipe.

Please advise! Thank you!

    Hi

It sounds like something has gone wrong with the permissions in SQL server ot the user account on the services, it could also be that you have set permissions in NAV or SQL that are now being enforced, this is not something that you can easily fix if you dont know SQL or NAV

2 Options, perhaps contact your NAV partner to assist

Alternatively you could try uninstalling NAV and SQL server express, then re-installing, this may be a quick fix

I also tried from the management studio to connect to database engine, analysis services, integration service and report services and the only one I can connect is Analysis services using window authentication. The rest of them all have errors.

How to fix the connection problems. Please adivse. Thank you!

RE: Cannot open the demo database

I checked the SQL Server Confguration and the client protocols has tcp/ip enabled. What else do I need to do in the configuration for tcp connnection? I am using the windows authentication and tried to connect to sql management studio and it has error 233.  I cannot add sysamin role to the use since it has errors in the sql managment studio.  I cannot do anything in the object explorer in the sql management.

I don't understand I am using regarding Network System or dedicated User for nav Service Tier and SQL Service. How can I find out what I am using? Thank you!

Are you using mixed mode authenticaton on SQL server ?

Are you using a Network System or dedicated User for nav Service Tier and SQL Service ?

Try to add sysadmin role to User
