Location Directive Actions Sort Query controlling Shipment Picklist.

Hi All,

I have a client who would like to organize the shipment picklist in a certain way. I've been successful in organizing the work for the mobile in the correct way when released to warehouse. But when I go to Shipment Details and Choose > Print > Picklist the order of the locations is incorrect.

The locations in the warehouse are setup as Aisle-Location-Shelf (A-1-1) with each location having 4 shelves (A-1-4). There are some instances where the same item needs to be picked from 2 shelves at the same location to satisfy the quantity needed (Shelves limited to a 30 item max).

For Example: You have an order for three items (2 of A, 50 of B and 3 of C).

When I look at the work created, this is organized correctly with as the following:

Pick 2 of A @ A-1-1

Pick 30 of B @ B-1-1

Pick 20 of B @ B-1-2

Pick 3 of C @ C-1-1

When I print the Picklist from the shipment details, the order of locations are listed as

A-1-1

B-1-1

C-1-1

B-1-2

I've tried adding a sort code to the shelves (1 through 4) and sorting the Action Directive but to no avail. I've also tried sorting on Item ID and Location in all different sequences, but can't seem to get the Pick list to sort properly. Am I missing something? From everything I've read the Location Action Directives Query/Sort is the place to set this up.

Many thanks in advance!

Simon

    Hi Simon,

Does it help if you go to Warehouse management -> Reports -> Pick list -> Shipping pick list. Use the 'Select' -> 'Sorting'. You'll see the sort is on Work lines, so maybe we have some possibility to influence the order in which the lines appear. Choose Field 'Location' and sort Ascending. Then run the report (maybe pick a single shipment to run it for).

I wonder if AX will remember your sort if you run the report from the shipment form.

    Hi Guy,

I found the answer after much digging. It's the Work Template sort that controls the order of the Shipping Pick list rather than the Location Directive. It doesn't seem like the location directive controls either the Work order or the Shipping Picklist report.

    Thanks,

    Simon
