you can add additional users cals to the existing license. once you upgraded then you need to switch the existing plans with new price.

You can refer below for the new licensing

    Hope this helps

Is the Action Pack subscription that you client have still active?

If so, he should be able to get Dynamics 365 licenses.

Regarding the number of licenses for your client:

Microsoft Dynamics CRM/365 Workgroup Server: This edition is limited to five, or fewer, users. This version is limited to a single organization and a single computer that is running Microsoft Dynamics CRM/365 Server.

If your client requires more than 5 user licenses, he will have to upgrade the CRM server software to Microsoft Dynamics CRM/365 Server, and purchase the individual user licenses.

    Hope this helps.

    Thank for your reply Aric....

Yes, the action pack is still active..

The clients want to have more licence and willing to upgrade the workgroup to server edition and add more user cals.

I have contacted the local comp which supplies MS licences, but they said that CRM on Premise package is no longer available and that Microsoft is encouraging on cloud model.

    I found it weird,

That is incorrect. Although Microsoft is pushing for cloud, Microsoft Licenses for On-Prem are still available.

Also see the licensing guide here:

There is a section at the end with links that can assist you with contacting Microsoft Licensing specialist or information how to get them.

    Hope this helps.
