Workflow batch jobs stuck in executing state

Hi expert,

I have a workflow in AX 2012 that does not working properly. By looking at the document workflow history, the approval just stopped in the workflow activated state.

Normally, in the tracking details.. it's supposed to be start the approval step.

When I check in the batch jobs, the workflow job stuck in executing state.

When I look further into the Batch Jobs submenu > View Tasks, I suspect this problem comes from the AOS instance name that seems to be not matched with the one in the Server Configuration. (and the one in the View Task is not editable, and I don't know where to change that).
*I am trying to move to a new server, that's why it's given a new AOS Instance name

So.. how can I resolve this situation? What do you think of my prejudice, is it the same with what you think the problem is?

Hi Michael,

Have you check the Batch group "WF" (under System administration > Setup) and checked the server attached to this batch group? You can select the current AOS server in this setup and restart the AOS service. Please try these steps and check if that resolves your issue.

Did you restart the AOS service and check if the batch job changes status form "Executing" to "Waiting"?

Another quick fix you could try is to go to AOT > Forms and open the form Tutorial_WorkflowProcessor. Right click and open the form, click on Start

This will clear up your Workflow queue. Post this, you could delete the batch jobs for workflow and add them again from Workflow infrastructure configuration (under System administration > Setup > Workflow).
