bookable resource name in search

Posted on by 280

Hi experts,

anyone can advise why a Bookable Resource with Firstname Middlename Lastname cannot be found in search when I enter Firstname, even when I add * after and before.

I was thinking the reason could be the related Contact, but we have examples when Contact has the same format as Firstname Middlename Lastname, it comes to Bookable Resource Name as Firstname Middlename Lastname and when typed Firstname in search, it shows the Bookable Resource. I am referring to the search in Active Bookable Resource view.

My searched Bookable Resource status is active.

thanks for tips,

Armine

hi Nelson, your suggestion was a good one, but I had already tried it and it did not resolve the issue. The issue is that for some Bookable Resources when the first name is typed, it is shown in the grid and for one troublesome Resource it does not work when I type the first name. I have a support ticket opened with MS.

Hi Armine. I noticed that you did not accept my suggestion as an answer. Are you saying that *First name still does not work for any resource? When you search, the results depend on the view you have selected - look at the filter criteria of that view and see if that is too limited to show you any results.

Hi Nelson Johnson, thanks for response, I had tried customizing Quick Find Active Bookable Resources. It contains Name and Employee ID (exactly what we need to search on).

The first place I would look is in Settings/Customizations/Customize the System/Entities/Bookable Resource/Views/Quick Find Active Bookable Resources. When you open that view editor, check in the "Add Find Fields" (or "Find by..." in the new UI) to make sure the Name field is included in the fields to search. Normally, FSA has that configured by default, but perhaps someone removed it not realizing that it affects the search.
