I'm setting up a batch job in data Management.
On the 'Batch job alerts' form,  when I slide 'Email' to /Yes/, the e-mail address shown is non-editable...

Thoughts?

Thanks much,
Rich

    Hi Rich,

Where are you setting the batch exactly?, can you give us the path with a screenshot.

    Thanks,
    Layan Jweihan

    Hi Rich,

The person who wants to have an email alert can go to the batch jobs overview and enable the email alert to get his/her own email address.
What is the background of your question? Do you need to set up alerts for other users?

I'm going to an export job in Data Management, going to "Export in Batch"
    Then setting parameters from there.
The e-mail address(blacked out) field, is READ ONLY

    Hi,
You can try to set up batch alerts as described in this blog(https://blog.johanpersson.nu/2018/03/01/enabling-batch-alerts-in-dynamics-365-for-finance-and-operations/), and you can try to set email parameters (including email addresses) in System Administration > Settings > Email > Email Parameters.

    Best Regards,
    Hana

Hana Xue , when I change  that user, it appears in the Parameters of the job alert ... but that only puts my email name in there as READ ONLY... I still can't edit that field..
Is it not editable by design?

I might not be coming across clearly on what I'm trying to do.

    1) I have a batch job
    2) I want that batch job to send an alert
    3) I want several people to receive said alert(s)

    Hi Rich,

I'm not sure if this can be edited. But I have a workaround, if you would like to send an email to multiple users.
What you can do is create a distribution list (Maybe your IT can help you with this), where this distribution list will contain all emails you would like to send the alert to. Then, fill the field with this single "distribution list" email and alerts will be sent to all emails defined in this list.

    Here's a link about distribution lists: https://www.techtarget.com/whatis/definition/distribution-list

    Thanks,
    Layan Jweihan

    Hi Rich,

The email address is defaulted from your own user settings. You can't change it. There is another workaround. You can enable business events based on alerts. You can then have an Flow in Power Automate that can act on the business event and send an email to several persons.
