Hi All,
We have a need to prioritize orders based on the "type of order" fed from the customer, whether it be for the customer to stock the product, a waiting order from one of their customers, or an emergency order (a hot order that needs to be shipped immediately and overnighted if possible). Is there any way to flag order priority in AX 2012?
We would also like to be able to set priority based on customer - so basically this customer's order needs to be shipped out before another customer's order.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Rosey

I have the same question (0)One field for this in AX is 'Customer classification group'. It appears on the release sales order picking form. However, I don't think you can set it on a per-order basis.
If you have R3, there is also a 'Priority' field on the Customer, which is used by the 'Picking workbench'. The advantage of this one is that you can also set it on a per order basis.
Also in R3 and linked to the Picking workbench is the 'Expedite' functionality. But this can only be set on the order (not on the customer).
I guess you also have options using the Inventory reservation functionality, and Delivery dates. I expect you could even hi-jack Mode of delivery. It depends how you release orders for picking, or if you want the priority to be made after release (in the warehouse).
Which reminds me. In R3, you also have the functionality to set a priority on sales order picking work (but only if you use the new warehouse management module).
