Output menu for report has no visibility properties

Good Day Experts,

I am just curriuous regarding of report output menu properties, I created report and everything are well, when we deploy it to RROD environment we can generate report and the button is there, but when I apply to the end user the button is not appearing even I add the privileges role that I create. I tried to check one report that from MS partner created, there is properties visibility=Public but in my output menu is not there. is this because of the version of VS? I am using VS 2022 is there any one know the problem? please advise thank you.

I don't know why you don't see the Visibility property, but I don't think it's the cause of your problem. More likely, you have a problem with permissions.

You mentioned a button - does it mean that you've created a menu item button in a form (pointing to your menu item)? You mentioned you "added the privileges role", but the correct setup is more complex. You need to create a privilege granting permissions to the menu item. Then you should create or extend a duty and the duty need to be added to a role. Then the user must be added to the role. Please verify that you've done it correctly.

Hi,

If you click on the output menu item from the AOT, you will see the 'visibility' property

However, if you open the designer, the visibility won't appear

But as Martin said, I don't think this is your issue.
We need to know how you assigned this privilege to the role -- certainly it looks like a security issue

Hi Waed Ayyad,

what I did is Privilege only then after Deploying in the PROD I create Role in system admin>security configuration> add the privilege that i created in VS then apply in the user. is that okay or not?

Hi,

After you added the privilege to the role, you need to publish the changes.

In the security configuration form, you can see 4 tabs

( Roles, Duties, Privileges, unpublished objects)

Click on unpublished objects and publish the change you want

Then go to the user and add this new role.

You might need to sign out and sign again with the user to see the change (or refreshing the page might be enough)

Hi Layan Jwei ,

Yes I already did what you said, after creating role I add the privilege that I created in VS then in privilege I put the output menu. after that I run the Data > synchronized all so the changes in roles, privilege and even in the output menu I put all grand already,,

but thank you to your answer about the visibility properties I thought its only my VS has problem, for the report menu not appearing I will inform you guys once it is solve, I already create in VS duty, privilege and role and I check all the access of this specially in output menu i hope this will okay after deploy thank you all

Hi,

Did you add the role that you created to the user? Try to reset usage data: as in the following blog:

Hi Waed,

Thank you for your sharing solution, indeed your solution is working well and Amrtin also, in additional to make it sure that my report will appear in end user, I do this in Privilege properties.

and I add Duty and Role in my customization, at first I though it is okay privilege only then I will add it in the existing role in sysAdmin>Security config. logically i know I am doing correct but its not work hehe, to minimized the time consume i make it sure now that it will appear ehhee its okay now. thank you guys.
