Error unable to load the assembly "Dynamics.AX.Application" while generating CIL

Hi All,

I'm getting an error saying "Unable to load the assembly 'Dynamics.AX.Application'" while generating CIL.

It's R3 development environment installed in my local machine. When I look into the path in my machine "S:\ERPLITE\Server\ERPLITE_DEV\bin\XppIL\", I don't find the dll file named 'Dynamics.Ax.Application.dll'.

I restarted my local machine as well as AOS, nothing helped me.

Please help me out to solve this problem as it's necessary to fix asap for me.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks & Regards,

Kedar

You should try to perform a FULL CIL (I imagine you are doing an incremental CIL). Also, I assume your instance is fully compiled properly.

    Hi Iulian,

I tried with the both FULL CIL genration as well as Incremental CIL generation.

I compiled the application which results no errors. But, the dll file from the "XppIL" folder is missing. I'm not getting the reason why? It will be regenerated once you restart the AOS, in my case it is not generating.

    Dear Kedar,

stop the AOS service than rename the XppIL (if you want rename it as: XppIL-OLD) after that restart the AOS (the XppIL folder will be created automatically) than please run FULL CIL generation and incremental CIL generation.

    Awaiting your feedback

This is strange indeed. Do you have multiple AOSes in your topology or only one?

Also, have you tried to delete only the files in the XppIL folder (so not the Source, temp, etc folders, but the netmodule and pdb files) and restart the AOS then perform a Full?

    Thanks Elie and Iulian.

Finally compile application from system administration and full CIL generation from AOT  resolved the issue.

I was compiling through powershell command.

    Thanks & Regards,
