Dynamics AX 2009 Rollup 7 Enterprise Portal AX_Core ERROR using Windows server 2008 r2 64 bits and sharepoint 2010 foundation

Posted on by 205

Arquitecture:

AOS Server: Running windows server 2008 r2 std 64 bits spanish.

Enterprise Portal Server: Running windows server 2008 r2 std 64 bits spanish, SharePoint 2010 Foundation 64 bits, IIS 7.5

DataBase server: Running Window server 2008 r2 std 64 bits spanish, SQL Server 2008 std r2 64 bits spanish, Reporting Services  and analysis services both 2008 r2 64 bits spanish.

Issue:

After update to Dynamics AX 2009 Rollup 7 we are experiencing the following error. This is the first time EP portal is implemented and deployed. I have try so many suggestions but non deals with this.

EP Users are not able to navigate through the EP pages. Below is the snapshot of the error which comes up in the EP Page. Sharepoint as usual doesn't show informative/descriptive errors and it's quite difficult to debug sharepoint pages, so my next bet was to look into Event Viewer to get a more detailed description of the error.

Event Viewer Log:

Dynamics Object Adapter Call failed Thread was being aborted System.Threading.ThreadAbortException at AxCore_Call(UInt64 , Char* , tagVARIANT* , Int32 , tagVARIANT* ) at Microsoft.Dynamics.BusinessConnectorNet.AxaptaObject.Call(String methodName, Object[] paramList) at Microsoft.Dynamics.Framework.BusinessConnector.Session.DynamicsObjectAdapter.Call(String methodName) Microsoft Dynamics AX Business Connector Session 444. Thread was being aborted. at AxCore_Call(UInt64 , Char* , tagVARIANT* , Int32 , tagVARIANT* ) at Microsoft.Dynamics.BusinessConnectorNet.AxaptaObject.Call(String methodName, Object[] paramList) Session Release for Microsoft Dynamics failed. No .NET Business Connector session could be found. I can provide additional details if needed. This seems like a bug to me, can any body help or confirm?.

    Hi, All

I had a similar issue on a Portal Redeploy, with exact same error above, i managed to resolve it by ensuring the AX Admin Account or account used to install Portal was assigned a Role Center.

Administration > User Profiles > Select a Profile > Add Admin User.

    Hope this helps someone:)

We had the same error due to the amount of unread notifications in the EventInbox (thousands).

This caused the Role centre page (where the "Work list web part exists by default) to timeout.

When notifications have been deleted from the database - Home page opens fine.

We have the same issue here but I can confirm that by following the steps in the article to increase the time out solve our problem. msdn.microsoft.com/.../aa548699(AX.10).aspx.

Make sure you do the both steps:-

-Change the Connection timeout and Http Keep-Alive properties on the server that runs IIS.

-Change connection time-out properties in the web.config file.

I've been fighting the same issue for quite a while and have just run across the following article:

    msdn.microsoft.com/.../aa548699(v=ax.10).aspx

It's for AX 4.0, but seems to be applicable to AX 2009 as well.

If understand the issue correctly, it happens because a BC session gets killed before it gets a reply back from EP.

The article mentioned above has a section, that describes how to increase SharePoint timeouts, which I believe just lets the BC to stay alive until EP gets back to it.

    Hope this helps...

Since this seems to be a very hard problem with dynamics AX 2009 , maybe a bug or configuration setting difficult to see, i have open a Microsoft Support Ticket, will post my results here, everybody is welcome to post suggestions and follow up.

Hello, Bill, thanks for your suggestion I have verified that AX32.exe and AX32Serv.exe match, both have the same values. I also try a complete re-install of the system starting from RTM, SP1, R7 compile entire aot, sync db, reinstall sharepoint, sql server 2008, and at the end i have the same issue. Do you think this might be related to my virtual enviroment?? All servers are running inside Vmware ESX Cluster server .  I dont see reply to group , only reply.

    Hello,

Check the versions of the AX32.exe, AX32Serv.exe, and .net business connector.  If they are NOT matched, download the fix again and apply it (after removing the hotfix).
