Which is the best method to send a mass email to a marketing list?

I'm using Dynamics CRM 2011.

I'm going to set up a campaign and use a number of my marketing lists

I need to send an email containing marketing material and a festive greeting card to around 800 contacts.

What is the best method to go about this? My first thoughts were setting up a campaign activity in the form of a mail merge.

Also im using the web version but have set it up to work with my Outlook client, therefore when I send the email will it go through my outlook?

    I was a big fan of Dynamic CRM back in 2011 but as time passes things evolved.
    When it comes to mass email campaign, I would really suggest you Vocus.io with my preference. 

    1. It is super easy to use. 
    2. You can send hundreds of emails within few clicks. 
    3. It provides tracking of customer as well. 
    4. Generates auto replies.
    5. Enables follow-up replies.

    I have used Alpha Sandesh as my ESP and the services they are providing is great. I have have to provide them is my subscribers list. You don't have to set up anything for sending mails. Their agents will do everything for you.

    Hi Jonathan,

    i use this email marketing product to send mass mail. It's very flexible, you can buy from the same provider the SMTP server or you can use your own. It's fully integrated with Dynamics CRM 2011 and 2013.

    As Archana suggested best option is 'Email Router'  to send bulk emails .Please let us know if you have any further question regarding the same .

    The email will go from your outlook,But it takes more time when compare to Email Router.You need keep open your outlook client till all mails are sent.You cannot capture the response of the campaign on time if you close your outlook client.Better option go for Email Router to send bulk emails and to capture the response of emails in CRM.

    Your approach is correct and also the answer to your question is Yes, the emails will go out from your Outlook.
