My client has a marketing form they send to clients to get referrals an then once the contact is created in D365 they want to link the records to one another. The scenario is the following:
What is the best solution to capture a form with the new contact information and know the contact who submitted the form?
Hi,
It is recommended to create a new lookup field, for example, Parent Contact or Original Contact, to record the audience.
Create a form field mapped with the lookup field.
Since the landing form can create contacts, when the audience receives the email, they can fill in the contact directly with the information (First Name, Last Name, Email Address).
Then select from the drop-list of the lookup field and set it as their own record.
For example, Contact A received the email.
A fill the form with the info of B.
A select the Option Contact A from the list.
Eventually, the audience submit the form, the new contact can be created and related to the contact who submitted the form.
