The application was successfully posted though no entries have been applied

User receive this message when applying vendor ledger entries. This is only happening for one user. Changing the order of the entries to be applied has been tried but same result.  The version of NAV is 2009 R2. I'm wondering if this is a know issue or if there is a hotfix to address this issue.

    Hi Muhammad,

well... I had this one several times, the last time during a presentation: Is it possible that the entries the user wants to apply have the same sign? The only other reason I can imagine (and yes, this is a standard bug) is that the user has hidden the remaining amount column from his vendor ledger entries form. In this case the remaining amount isn't calculated, therefore the "amount to apply" is set to zero. This directly leads to the message you mentioned.

    with best regards

    Jens

RE: The application was successfully posted though no entries have been applied

    HI There Muhammed,

I have seen this problem before and it is an absolute pain to debug.

In my experience the issue is cause by one of the following.

    1) Microsoft bug (requires Microsoft hotfix); surrounding the calculation of the "Remaining Quantity" field. To determine whether this is the cause; ensure that the "Remaining Quantity" column is visible on all of the relevant forms. If the application applies; then you know that the hotfix is required.

    2) Zup file corruption: For some reason zup file corruption can cause unwanted behaviour such as the error that you are experiencing. I have found that this is also one of the most common causes of this error (apart from the hotfix scenario above). To resolve: Close down all Nav sessions for the user. Got to C:\users\<User name>\App data\roaming.

Then delete the Zup file. You may need to configure the file explorer to "show hidden folders".

    Hope this helps you!

    Darron.

I don't think it would make a difference as Microsoft didn't fix the bug in 2009 where it originated. Also, later versions store user related parameters in meta data form rather than using a Zup file.

1st) remove ZUP for this user

2nd) check that there is no "old" USERID is filled in vendor entries when you make application

Also the bug can be fixed by adding CALCFIELDS("Remaining Amount") to OnAfterGetRecord trigger of Customer and Vendor Ledger Entries forms.
