new employee employment in another legal entity ==> impact to project resource

Dear forum colleagues.

I´m faced with a problem in relation with employee employment and project resource.

My system is standard Contoso (Fall release). The employee “Cindy White” is already employed in USSI. The project setup is also done. Because of this “Cindy White” is visible in the “resources list” page inside the project module. As far as I know project resources are stored inside “resources” of the “Organization administration” module. So I checked the “resources” screen. I can see a record “Cindy White” with a link to the worker 000358. Everything OK.

Now there is a change regarding the employment. From 01. December 2016 “Cindy White” should be an employee of FRSI. So I have to change the employment. I started the employment in FRSI by 01 December 2016 and ended USSI by 30 November 2016. In addition I entered project setup information in FRSI. Usually a project resource is created automatically as soon as you enter the calendar.

But in this case there is no resource created or changed. The resource “Cindy White” is still visible in USSI but not in FRSI. Also it is not possible (and not correct) to use this resource in a hour journal with USSI. If I try to enter the resource “Cindy White” I receive a massage “Resource is not associated with the current legal entity”.

Question: How to change the employment of Cindy White to get a correct project resource in FRSI or is it a bug in the standard software? BTW: It´s a no go to create a new worker, I need the employment history.

Thank you for any ideas.

Christoph

Currently there is no solution but I found this in the roadmap for the next update:

Support for a worker to be a project resource in multiple legal entities at the same time

A worker may have employment in multiple legal entities at the same time. This feature will allow the same worker to be a project resource in multiple legal entities at the same time. Currently, a worker can only be mapped to a single project resource.
