What is the Different Point Between Sale order and Sale Quotation Report?

I Want to understand more clearly the different point Between Sale order and Sale Quotation, such as

Process to create it, Tables , and Relation to create it. share me some main pont.

Sales Quotation, in very simple words you can say Sales Proposal. You will create a sales document, which will be either accepted or rejected by customer. You will SEND it to customer. If quotation is accepted/ confirmed, it is converted to Sales Order, automatically in System (AX).

Whereas, Sales Order you can say my sales register, where there are actual sale orders and then the processing of sales order itself starts.

Technical Details W.R.T AX:

Sales Quotation:

saved in SalesQuotationTable (Header Information) and SalesQuotationLine(Lines Information)

saves in SalesTbale(Header Information) and SalesLine (Lines information)

Process is that you can create Sales Quotations which can be confirmed and create Sales Orders or rejected/lost based on the customer/prospect's decision.

At a high level the tables are SalesQuotationTable (Sales quotation headers), SalesQuotationLine (Sales quotation lines), SalesTable (Sales order headers) and SalesLine (Sales order lines).

If you confirm a Sales Quotation the created Sales Order is referenced on the SalesQuotationTable under the SalesIdRef field.

How Sales Quotation related the Cost Center(Financial Dimensions)? I mean we need get more information from it such as CostCenter Name, Department for the report.

Financial Dimensions are saved as int64 type value in Header(SalesQuotationTable.DefaultDimension) as well as inside lines(SalesQuotationLine.DefaultDimension).
