Hi Experts,

Can D365 's company code can set up more than 4 digit in D365? Like 5 digit-10 digit can set up for company code?

Example :

Below and the key design of the company code naming convention :

1st digit : Region
2nd digit : Banner

3th digit : Brand

4th digit : Running numbers (00-ZZ)

5th digit : Running numbers (00-ZZ)

If yes, how many digit can the company code set up in the company book?

Hi Ansonkw

Max length is 4. You need to adjust your sequence appropriately. Length of 4 can support 9999 companies/legal entities.

Company code has 4 digits. You can use company name for the descriptive information of your company.

Even if it's possible, wouldn't suggest to take that route. It's unnecessary customization to core system.

With the current 4 digits, you can use numbers and the alphabet. In that case, you can potentially create over 1.5 million combinations for legal entities.

I have worked on an implementation where there are over 3000 legal entities. What's in a number? You can also start typing the legal entity name when you want to switch companies in Dynamics 365.
