Microsoft Dynamics Ax 2012 - Parallel run Approach

Please let us know whether any of the Microsoft Dynamics project has gone live along with the legacy system for Parallel run, if any details are available regarding the approach for the parallel run along with any precautions or pros and cons please share it or any pointers

Do you mean the customer wants to go live using AX and the previous system simultanously? In this case you have to know that the systems are very different. If there is a large volume of transactions it would be almost impossible to have it aligned. If they are using e.g. trade and logistics or production, for sure AX will have other logic and can generate other postings and/or proposals.

If there is a difference. Which system is right?

I think they can better extend the test period to enter more data and accept the AX solution. For sure they will have overlooked something. This is common in every implementations. Please plan an after-care period.

It is possible to do a go-live test and enter some data simultanious as test. Some time later you can plan the final go-live and start with a clean system when they are confident.

The way to go depends on how everything will be managed; also in case of incidents. If they test well (not only two transactions) they can accept the system and go-live reassured.
