Job dimensions - BUG REPORT

Posted on by

Not sure if anyone else has seen this.  Being a super user I do not feel I should have receive the following error message when setting up dimensions on a job.

You do not have the following permission on TableData Job Task Dimensions:Insert

This appears to be a bug since I can add the first dimension, however adding a second line generates the error message.  (see screen shots in Word doc)

If you click NO to the "You have changed a dimension, Do you want to update the lines?" it actually adds the dimensions as since on the screen shot.

RE: Job dimensions - BUG REPORT

    Hello Mark,

Development will be reviewing this defect, and at this time I don't have any timeframe or guarantee on when a fix will be available.

If you need to use Dimensions on Jobs, then yes, I would hold off on entering jobs at the moment.  My apologies for this inconvenience.

    Regards,

    Jennifer Reinhardt

Thank you Jennifer.  What is the typical ETA on a fix like this?  I guess I need to hold off on entering jobs at this point?

Thank you Mark for the additional note, I'm seeing the same thing. I will make sure and add this information to the product defect.

RE: Job dimensions - BUG REPORT

    Jennifer,

Thanks for getting back so quickly

One more note... The Dimensions on the Job card seem to be working today.  No errors, however when I try to add a task I get a Permission error on the inserting of a JobTask line.  Also, i noticed the column selection doesn't contain any additional Dimension selections other than the two global.  Just want to make sure the Dimensions flow through on my Journal lines when posted

RE: Job dimensions - BUG REPORT

    Hello Mark,

Thank you for bringing this error message to our attention.  I have documented this issue as Product Defect 211591.

When clicking "Yes" on the message "You have changed a dimension, Do you want to update the lines?" what it's trying to do is roll down those Dimension Code and Values  to the lines. You will get the same error message about the 'TableData job Task Dimension' if you add your Dimension Code columns to your Lines/Tasks on the Job and try to add a Code Value on the line.

When you click "No" on the message it's adding the Dimension Code and Value to the header of the Job, which returns no error. The defect appears to be when trying to update the Job lines.

    Regards,

    Jennifer Reinhardt
