Architecture of Mobile App for Android

I want to develop apps for Android and connect it with our Dynamics AX (at our premises). I have found the following app:

https://code.msdn.microsoft.com/Developing-Secure-Mobile-02105158

I have two questions regarding the above app?

1. Which platform is being used by this app? (Xamarin, Android Native or PhoneGap/Cordova or any other)?

2. I read here https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=38413 that AX app needs Azure Bus service to connect on-premises AX. Is it necessary? Is there any other way to connect directly to the system?

Please guide me how to create app and I would appreciate answer to my questions above.

Regards,

Abubaker Siddiq

You'll find answers in the document.

It says: "In this example and the sample code provided, we have made use of a Windows Phone application [...], but you are by no means limited to that. Clients could be anything ranging from Windows 8 apps in C# or JavaScript to .NET services to websites."

The document also explains that Service Bus Relay helps you to avoid opening your system for access from outside (e.g. opening ports on firewall), which means that you don't need it if you're willing to open your system (which is less secure).

Alright Thank you. But can someone answer my first question?

Which platform is being used by this app? (Xamarin, Android Native or PhoneGap/Cordova or any other)?

I am talking about the app here: https://code.msdn.microsoft.com/Developing-Secure-Mobile-02105158 This is a companion app released by Microsoft on Google Play Store as well.

It's a Windows Phone app, so it's not an Android app, it's not a multiplatform Xamarin app or anything else.

It's just a code sample, not a production-quality app and the code clearly uses Microsoft technologies for Windows Phone apps; you must be talking about something else in Google Play Store.
