Active Workers with no Current Position - Power BI Report?

ReportReport

Hi,

does anyone know if it is possible to create a report in Power BI to show a list of workers still marked as Active but with no assigned position that is active? I can see from the Personel Management - Analytics - People by Department report that we've got 44 people with no department. I'm pretty sure that these are all people with no active position.

many thanks,

Tom

    Hi Tom,

You can create a report in Power BI for this. You need to join multiple table to achieve this.

    Hi,

yes - that's what I'm trying to do. I'm just struggling on the logic of how the report works - I can't work out how to show active worker records that don't have a current position. Do you know what fields you'd use for the report please?

    many thanks,

    Tom

    Hi Tom,

Please use cdm_worker and cdm_employment entity and join based on cdm_workerId. You have to create a measure to get calculate data based on the current date. Please check this blog post.

Thanks for this - I don't think I've explained the problem I'm having very well.

I can get a report to show the worker's employment end date, and can show their position end dates as well, the trouble is people may have had 2 or 3 positions in the past, so I need to show people who don't have an active position.

    For example:

John Smith - Employment End Date - Never. He's had 2 positions - position 1111, assignment start 01/01/2018, assignment end 31/12/2019 - position 2222, assignment start 01/01/2020, assignment end 01/08/2021

Jane Doe - Employment End Date - Never. She's had 2 positions - position 3333, assignment start 01/01/2018, assignment end 31/12/2019 - position 4444, assignment start 01/01/2020, assignment end 01/08/2025

I need a report that shows the John Smith is an active employee with no active positions. In the report I've got at the moment I can't filter out Jane Doe as she's also got a position with an end date before today. I can't use the isprimarypostion flag as a filter because John Smith doesn't have a primary position.

    Does that make sense?

    many thanks,

    Tom
