What do you want to focus on? AX2012 or D365FO.
For D365FO, you can follow Saheb's link. The trial version is used for system processes, etc., not for development.
For AX2012, there is no free trial of AX2012, only a demo machine available for customers or partners if you can access to customersource or partnersource. If not, the only option to install AX is buying a MSDN subscription.
