Is it possible to attach more than one role to a single user and is it possible for that user to swap from one role to the other?

Are you referring to role center? if so no you cannot have multiple role centers assigned to the user. Unfortunately we don't have that feature yet.

Thank you Suresh, I though I saw that feature in NAV 2013 but I guess I was wrong.
If you speak about role center, then no, one user can be assigned to just one role center. If you speak about security roles, then yes, one user can have multiple security roles assigned.
Better you create the new role center page having the required details (combination of important role centers).
