Batch number expiration date alert

Hi everyone,

This question that I want to ask is related to inventory expiration date (D365 F&O). So far we are using batch tracking and field related to batch called "expiration date" for the items that expire over time (ex. glues).

We want to alert our users that specific item is about to expire in given amount of time and we were using alerts to do that so far but the issue is that the notification appears despite that there is no on-hand available anymore for given batch number. What we want to achieve is to inform users that item/batch number is about to expire only if we have stock available for this number.

Does any of you know out of the box solution to achieve that?
