I'm new to AX, after using GP years ago (pre-MS) and as a Sage Mas 500 consultant for the last 6 years. Handwriting on wall says it's time to pick up AX.
But I'm missing some things. I have no access to the sample data, since I'm not actually a customer or a partner at this point. I plan to work for a partner at some point, but in this economy, I'm thinking I'll use my slow time to learn the system before I start knocking on their doors!! But since I'm neither customer nor partner, I can't get the data. That makes it AWFULLY tough to figure out how this stuff works.
I figured this would be easy, since I know my way around a lot of
other systems. Install, sure, no problem. Up and running. Able to
set up basic things like items or accounts. But I can't *do* anything with them -- for example, it looks like POs need to post, but that is disabled. I'm sure there's some simple setup routine that needs to be done, but I'm having a tough time guessing at what needs to be set up where in order to do that.
Can anyone point me to the sample data, or to a general help or configuration guide? This system is different, technically, from others I've worked with, and I need to figure out what in the world it needs to move forward!
