In Interactive service hub window.opener is not available

Hello everyone,

I have a question - why window.opener is not accessible in ISH when a dialog is opened with Xrm.Utility.openWebResource(..)?

How it can be accessed?

At the same time it is accessible at the same conditions when is used standard D365 (Online or On-premises) environment.

Thanks in advance!

    Hi cskasforce ,

i reverse your question: why you want to access window.opener? what is your goal? what you need to do?

There are a lot of workaround to accomplish task you cannot do throught the standard way :-)

    Please let me know.

    Hello Francesco,

    Thanks for your prompt input!

Yeah, I'd like to use it as in the standard environment because there is some logic associated with it.

    Hi cskaforce,

i need to know the flow, what you need from window.opener, like:

"on closing webresource in need to update a field with a value from a textbox inside the webresource"

    Let me know.

    Hello again, Francesko,

The window.opener is used to get Xrm.Page.context, Xrm.Page.data and some other custom properties added to it. And yes, after the WebResourse is closed I need to pass some values from it to MSDCRM entity fields.

    Hi cskasforce,

you dont need to refer to window.opener.

To get a reference to Xrm you just need to include ClientGlobalContext.js.aspx, as you can see in the following page:

    https://msdn.microsoft.com/it-it/library/gg328541.aspx?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396

Please let me know if you solve.

    Hi cskasforce,

I got the same problem, but this is for the Field Resource Hub. I try to use the top.opener to get data from the original form and transfer it to the form that is opened. It does work in CRM online, but not in the Resource Hub.

    Any suggestions?
