Data migration from NAV 3.7 to 2017

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi All,

I have a native 3.7 database which is already restored in 5.0. Can someone explain me the steps to migrate the data from 3.7 to 2017.

Thanks,

Madhavi

You can open DB in 2009 (Classic Client) and then NAV will convert DB to 2009 version. However it will not update your application code. To get the latest functionalities available, you need to upgrade application code as well.

As Yogesh suggested this will be only platform upgrade and you will not get any application update in NAV 2009.

    Madhavi,

You will just need to convert the database, basically there is no need of Data upgrade.

Just open the database of 5.0 with 2009, you will be prompted for conversion, click on OK and convert the database.
